Outdoor Concerts
Waipu Caves Farm Park is a privately owned conservation and recreation park. We do a range of activities including camping, cave tours, rock climbing, school camps, sportting events and concerts inside our cave and starting in 2027 we will be doing outdoor concerts in a purpose built outside amphitheater with terraced grass seating area with flat dance area in front of the stage.
the area is big enough to take 1000 people standing with space or 500 seated.
Some events will be single day and some multi-day.
Running events is nothing new for us, but outdoor concerts something new. We will start small with an afternoon concert for 300 people on Sunday 24th January 2027. We expect we will get some learning from it before we move to the next one in March 2027, which will be a weekend event for 500 people with about up to 200 people camping and 300 as day visiting.
Sunday afternoon, 24th January 2027
Three bands and several young performers we call Rising Stars will perform for the afternoon.
Butter Wouldn't Melt from Wellington, Albi & the Wolves from Mangawhai and Hot Diggity Dog from Whangarei will perform for 1 hour each plus the Rising Stars before and bewteen the 3 main performances. Total performance time will be near 4 hours.
Food & Drinks
Food trucks will be there from 12noon.
Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking and Vaping
This is BYO Beer and Wine. There will not be alcohol sold onsite.
Don't bring or use drugs here. You don't need to get stoned.
Smoking and Vaping is normally excluded from all our events, however we will have a designated location so you can.
