Airsoft
at Waipu Caves Farm Park
Airsoft is a sport we started here in May 2024. We plan to grow this activity and become the best open space airsoft field in NZ.
We have allocated about 10 acres of our 320 acre park for airsoft. There are 5 areas each with different terrain, contours, grass, bush, swamp, rocky bottom river and road. We will be adding to area 1 our HQ building, a junk yard with dead vehicles etc (forming an apocalypse disaster area), trenches, bunkers, village, lookout towers, and tyre walls. All this won't happen overnight and will be a slow process a year or two, mostly during summer. Even without the constructed stuff the bush and paddocks are great as they are. So keep check back with us and come join a game.

At this stage we will be setting up games about once a month and then aim to increase as summer comes on. If you are interested in a game, email us at waipucaves@gmail.com.
in time we will have bookings online like we do for our rock climbing and cave tours.
NEXT GAME - SUNDAY 25TH AUGUST 2024 - in area 1 (see map below)
Games are about 45 minutes each.
Games start approx 10.30am game 1, 11.30am game 2, 12.30pm lunch 1.00pm game 3, 2.00pm game 4.
You do not need your own guns as we have a limited number of hire guns.
You can play as many or few games as you like.
Prices.
If using your own gear - $30 per person and you can play as many games as you like (1-4).
If you need rental gear (guns, clothing, safety gear) - $60 per person and you can play as many games as
you like (1-4).
BBs are available in 0.25, 0.28, 0.30.
Booking.
At present you should email us to book in. In the future we will move to online booking.
Arrival times.
If you have not been here before please arrive at our office through gate 1 at least 45 minutes before game start.
If you have played here on the field before you can go straight there through gate 2 ideally 30 minutes before game starts so you can kit up.
Rules of the game will be discussed onsite before each game.
If you have your own guns you must use these specs:
BBs must be biodegradable, you must arrive with an empty magazine and load biodegradable pellets on site. If you don't have some, we have them here for sale.
Joules need to be at 2.32 or below on 0.36gram BB or below. Exceptions can be made for higher weights, IE Sniper rifles. (If you are running 2.32 or less but require a heavier BB its ok, as long as it is not a full auto capable weapon basically and you will need to use a longer minimum engagement distance and have a pdw or pistol for short ranges)
6 July 2024.
Our second event here with 16 players, all day, morning in the bush and afternoon in the junk yard which we added some vehicles since last game.
26 May 2024.
We had our first airsoft game here as a trial run to see how the area would work and to plan how we will move forwards to become the best outdoor airsoft tournament area in NZ.
The all day play was mixed with open grassland, bush, bush road, and junk yard.
